The Bible tells us that we are saved by grace but what does this actually mean to you and me in this day and age?
As the age old song goes "Amazing grace—how sweet the sound—That saved a wretch like me.
I once was lost but now am found,Was blind but now I see". Or maybe you know stormzy's hit of 2017 "Im blinded by your Grace ".
Katy Perry sang " By the grace of God (there was no other way) I picked myself back up (I knew I had to stay) I put one foot in front of the other and I Looked in the mirror and decided to stay.
For centuries musicians have been writing and singing songs about God's Grace.
The grace of God is expressed by God’s forgiveness of our sins, and His blessings to us include peace and fulfillment in this life and for eternity.
Grace is extending kindness to those who are not worthy of it..
We are all human and imperfect people who make mistakes and need to realign ourselves with God when we have become derailed by an action that seperated our will form the Will of God.
We are saved by grace, not by a mixture of God’s Grace and our meritorious works.
We are saved by God's generosity, all of this comes from God not from you or me.
Jesus came to offer us salvation and eternal life, as we embrace this God gifts us graces we neither ask for or deserve to guide us and help us stay on the path to eternal life.
“And they refused to listen, And did not remember Thy wondrous deeds which Thou hadst performed among them; So they became stubborn and appointed a leader to return to their slavery in Egypt. But Thou art a God of forgiveness, Gracious and compassionate, Slow to anger, and abounding in lovingkindness; And Thou didst not forsake them” (Nehemiah 9:17)
Grace means that God showered favor and blessing on those who did not earn it or deserve it. They deserved His judgment and wrath. But He showed them favor.
The commandment is not to “try” to love our neighbors but to love our neighbour as we love ourselves. As we actively strive to shed the burden of judging our neighbours and accepting that they are flawed people just like yourself , we can then see Jesus in each and every person and offer mercy , compassion and love to those most in need of it.In doing so God recognises our willingness to do good and bestows graces upon us.
We are saved by grace through faith , as we grow and mature in our faith so too will the graces bestowed on us.
Grace is that attribute of God that enables us to break free of our sinful nature and to follow Him. It gives us strength and protection from God.
Without God's grace, His favor, we would be hopelessly lost in this world.Through scripture we can learn of God's mercy and Grace.
If you want more grace from God then read your bible as that is what brings you closer to God and enables God to bestow more graces on you.
The more grace you have and that you ask God for, the more mature and loving Christians you will be. Firstly God saves you then trains you !
God is Holy and God is Love. When you allow the Holy Spirit to work through you , you can strive to become a Saint!
As it is through grace we become holier and more Godlike.
Because of the Grace of God, our response should be to fall on our knees in thanksgiving and worship <3
