What is the Purpose of Prayer in our Modern World. A popular concept of prayer is that if we have faith in God, pray diligently and if the cause we are praying for is a righteous or good one (like the healing of a loved one or another person), then God will intervene in His ways to make our wish come true.
You and I were created for prayer. Life is about learning how to pray.Praying from our hearts.Talking to God as we would a friend. If the very purpose of human life is to know God and love God in eternity, then the purpose of this life is prayer. And when we stop praying, that's when things begin to go wrong.
Prayer is of huge importance in the life of us Christians because of the importance it is given in the Word of God. The Bible is filled on the subject of prayer. The fact of the emphasis on this subject of prayer which is made in the Word of God indicates to us the highest importance placed upon it by the Holy Spirit who is the Author of the Holy Book (2 Timothy 3:16;)
Prayer is of high importance in the life of us Christians because it is the teaching of our Lord Jesus Christ.Imagine the four Gospels with every reference to prayer therein.Over and over again our blessed Lord and Savior stressed the importance of prayer,He gave wonderful promises in relation to prayer and encouraged His disciples (and us) to pray- look up Matthew 18:19, 21:22; Mark 11:24 and John 14:13-14.
Prayer is of Vital importance in the life of us Christians because of all it can accomplish in supplying our every need. It is perfectly true that “more things are wrought by prayer than this world dreams of”, but think of the wonderful accounts of the power of prayer which have been recorded for us in the Bible. For us believers, prayer is the divine method for supplying every need.2 Ask and you shall receive".
The more we pray, the happier we become. The more we pray, the less anxious we become, and we become filled with a greater peace of mind and heart. The more we pray, the more we understand ourselves, for we come to know God more intimately, by experience and we really only know ourselves to the degree that we know God personally. The more we pray, we begin to see the hand of God in our day to day life, that is, we see Him acting in our life. We begin to see that He loves us, personally. That makes life so much more meaningful. We begin to feel blessed and become a blessing to all we meet.
If we do not pray, we open ourselves up to deception. This is such an important point. demonic deception is so subtle, and we're just not in tune enough to defend ourselves against the subtle deception of the Evil One. An angel is inconceivably superior, intellectually, to human beings, and the person who does not have the habit of prayer is open to all sorts of deceptions. And the goal of the devil in sowing lies, distortions and deception in the minds of human beings is to separate them, to create division and angst. That leads to fighting, or broken friendships, mutual distrust, animosity and a whole host of other negative behaviors.
